ABOUT TANGO AFTER DARK
Director and Choreographer Germán Cornejo is widely recognized as one of today’s foremost tango choreographers and dancers. Hailed by The New York Times, Financial Times, and The London Times as a “hot young choreographer,” he has captivated global audiences with his electrifying style. Born in Buenos Aires Province in 1986, Cornejo began studying tango at age 10 and graduated with a Master of Tango at 15. He expanded his training with ballet, jazz, acrobatics, and choreography studies at the National Institute of Arts. A former World Tango Champion, Cornejo has earned multiple gold medals and accolades. His mentor, Broadway star Nélida Rodriguez, helped shape his artistic voice. He has performed internationally in venues like the Sydney Opera House and on major television shows, and has collaborated with artists such as Jennifer Lopez. Today, Cornejo leads the Tango Fire Company and his own Germán Cornejo Dance Company, creating acclaimed productions like Tango After Dark and Wild Tango.
