Center for Dance Spring Concert 2026
SUN, MAY 17 | 7pm
The New Orleans Ballet Association presents the Center for Dance 2026 Spring Concert, a dynamic performance featuring more than 70 participants from across NOBA’s programs. This mixed-repertory concert showcases the strength and artistry of NOBA’s elite Pre-Professional dancers alongside participants from its acclaimed community programs, presented in partnership with NORD and the New Orleans JCC. Featuring a lineup of new works by esteemed local and guest master artists, the program reflects the versatility and collaborative spirit of the NOBA community through distinctive artistic voices.
A key highlight of the performance will include two premieres by award-winning Brooklyn-based choreographer
John Heginbotham. A 2018 Guggenheim award recipient, Heginbotham visited NOBA in March to lead a residency that resulted in an exciting intergenerational work. This joyful, cross-program piece features participants from across NOBA programs, including dancers from the Oscar J. Tolmas Charitable Trust Dance for Parkinson’s, Senior Dance Fitness, and Pre-Professional Programs.
The concert will also feature a world premiere by Cuban-born choreographer Joan Rodriguez, Rehearsal Director and Artist with BODYTRAFFIC, alongside additional works that celebrate the creativity and dedication of NOBA’s student dancers.
