Summer Intensive Programs, June & July 2021 (dates vary per program)

About the Summer Intensive Programs:

The tuition-free, in-person Summer Intensives challenge and inspire youth ages 8-18 through rigorous dance technique classes, repertory sessions, and performance opportunities, led by an incredible team of visiting and local master instructors! This year's three-week intensive to be held July 12-30 for advanced dancers ages 12-18 features EVIDENCE Artistic Director Ronald K. Brown and Associate Artistic Director Arcell Cabuag, plus master ballet instructor and Princess Award winning choreographer Jae Man Joo. Additional sessions will be offered in June for ages 12-18, and in July for ages 8-18.

Early Childhood Program

In-Person Classes
Tuition-free Early Childhood Ballet and Creative Movement offered in person at two NORD partner locations.
Registration is closed for Spring 2021.

Classes are March 1 – May 27.

Preparatory Program

Ages 6-18
No prior dance experience necessary.

Tuition-free classes in ballet and modern, live-streamed virtually through Zoom.

In-Person/Virtual Graham Modern Technique (Intermediate/Advanced) for ages 14 and up

**Classes are also available virtually, and will be live-streamed via Zoom from in-person classes at the Lyons Center. See below for instructions on how to register for in-person and or virtual classes.

Challenge and strengthen your technique and artistry through these intermediate/advanced level ballet and Graham classes, led by NOBA Master Artist and former Dance Theatre of Harlem principal dancer Donald Williams and Corey Melancon. Limited spaces are available for in-person classes.


Following the completion of all required NOBA and NORD forms and waivers found in the links below, participants will receive a link to pre-register via Eventbrite for in-person classes. Pre-registration is required for each in-person class session, which is filled on a first come, first served basis. No walk-up registration is permitted at this time.

All steps below must be completed by a parent/guardian if the applicant is under the age of 18.

These classes are by donation (suggested donation amount: $5.00 per class). Donations may be made online HERE. All donation proceeds support NOBA's tuition-free dance, fitness and wellness programs.

Pre-Professional, Bridge and Relevé Programs

Ages 8-18

Audition required & two years prior training recommended.

These tuition-free programs provide motivated students ages 8 to 18 with intensive instruction in ballet, pointe, modern, repertoire, and other dance forms, and unprecedented opportunities to study with world-renowned artists through the Master Artist Series. Spring in-person classes will be held weekly between January - May 2021 at NORD partner locations throughout the New Orleans area. To see a list of program descriptions and schedules, click here.
